Washington Capital Gain Tax Ruled Unconstitutional

In a long-awaited decision, Judge Brian Huber ruled yesterday (March 1, 2021) the 7% Washington Capital Gains Tax that was scheduled to go into effect at the beginning of this year unconstitutional.

Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson has indicated that his office will appeal the ruling, which is expected to end up in the state Supreme Court.
